Last Night at Dooley's

We had a little get together at Dooley's last night. There was Kris, Jenny, Cindy, Mark, Jim and Myself. We sure had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. It's been 27 years since graduation, and here we are, just like no time has passed, meeting at the 'New' Camaraderie.

Thanks to Jim for pulling all those names out of his hat. Now we all have to dig out our yearbook to see who he was talking about!

Jenny, my Blue Bird friend. I love the short hair, but when I think of you, I still see you with the long hair from Locust Lane.

Kris, what a year! You are truly a survivor.

Cindy and Mark....what fun we are having trying to raise our teenagers. Or are they raising us?

I feel truly blessed to have each of you in my life. Happy New Year!!

Good Friends

We were able to get together again for lunch over Thanksgiving time. It is not very often that the bunch of us are all in town, but when we are, we make a point of getting together. We talk too much, laugh too much, and sometimes drink too much. Whatever we do, we have fun. We have all been friends for 30+ years and been through a lot together.

Our next get-together is March in 'The Cities'! (It is in print, so we are committed) I'll see you all there!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving Day with my parents (the 5 of us + the dog+ my brother and his dog), 8 people and 2 dogs. We had a great time, good conversation, lots food, some card games and an attempt at a family photo.

Here's what you get.

I tried to get my 3 kids together, and there's always 1 (and usually it's Bobby) that does something like this.

Knitting

I am making an attempt to knit socks, in the round. So far, so good. I am really enjoying it, however, I'm not sure how stress-free this is. But, I am about 1/2 done with the first sock and I keep plugging away. My next pair, I will definitely try knitting 2 at a time.

ElectionDay

Did you vote! I am anxiously awaiting the results of today's election.

I received an email from a coworker late last week about the importance of voting. It was an eye opener for me. Don't get me wrong, I realize it is important to vote, and I had always planned on voting. Here is a portion of the email I received:

This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago.

Remember, it was not until 1920

that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.

We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic, republican or independent party - remember to vote.

History is being made!

Well, here we go!

Here's the first posting. Enjoy!

My Blog is called Teyamia. My given name is Teya. A close friend of the family, Betty Boop (Boop is not her given name-LOL) has ALWAYS called me Teya Mia. So, there you have it. In my attempt to be original, this is what you get.

I am a wife, mother of 3 (2 being teenagers-ARRGH!), middle school secretary, photographer-wanna-be and the yearbook advisor for our school. In my spare time, and there isn't much, I love to take photos of whatever will stay still long enough for me to get a semi-clear photo.

And what is a posting without a photo? A total waste, so here's a few for you.

This is us playing SHMEAR (sp?) at the grandparents last month.
I'm the one in the middle! :-)

And, here's what happens if the kids get ahold of the camera!

You've gotta love 'em!!!
